This superb holiday takes in some of the finest walking country in Britain. In the south Cotswolds, Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean there’s scenic beauty that’s a match for anything nationwide. Our 3 walks are led by professional guides – experienced walkers who know how to make walks safe and interesting. We stay in the 4-star Bowden Hall Hotel on the edge of Gloucester, which has everything you need to relax after a day’s walking. Dinner & breakfast are included each day and return coach travel is also included.

Itinerary - Day 1: To the Cotswolds via Cirencester
Depart from chosen pick-up points and drive to the Cotswold town of Cirencester. Free time to explore this old woollen town and obtain refreshments. Mid-afternoon we continue to our hotel, perched on the escarpment overlooking the city of Gloucester. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Wye Valley walk
Meet with our guides and depart the hotel after breakfast and drive to Tiddenham Chase. The walk will take us through the edge of the Forest of Dean and out to a magnificent view point overlooking the Wye Valley and Tintern Abbey. The walk will continue into Tintern where those that would like to visit the ruins can do so. We will also make Tintern the lunch-time stop. During the afternoon we will take the old railway line foot path alongside the river that skirts the forest. Late afternoon we return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 3: Cotswolds walk
Meet the guides and depart the hotel after breakfast and drive to the Windrush valley to start our walk. We will pass through some of the beautiful out of the way villages including The Slaughters. The guides will also be able to relay some of the historical facts of the area, in particular the escape route taken by Charles II after the Battle of Worcester. We will make a convenient stop at lunch-time and end the walk in the village of Bourton-on-the-Water. We return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 4: Severn Vally walk, then home
After breakfast we check-out of the hotel and travel south to Frampton-on-Severn that has the largest village green in England. We will walk in and around this delightful area and parkland before continuing past the Sharpness to Gloucester canal to the banks of the Severn estuary and the Wildfowl and Wetland trust at Slimbridge – Here you will be able to see the complex relationship between the inter-tidal and marine habitats and the wildlife they support that go to make this a unique ecosystem. There will be free time at the Trust where refreshments can also be obtained before departing for home.
