The Christiana VII

This exquisite, fun sailing cruise is all about location, location, location, as it visits the idyllic paradise locations seen in the Mamma Mia movie. Our sailing trip includes Skopelos and Skiathos, in the Northern Aegean Sporades Islands, where many of the scenes were filmed as well as remote and secluded places that add a sense of tranquillity and calm. This unique one-week Mamma Mia cruise is set at a leisurely pace where we sail for 2-3 hours per day, with plenty of time to stop, have lunch and swim in the crystal clear azure Aegean Sea. Breakfast and a simple lunch are served on-board by your crew, while in the evening you can self-cater on-board or dine out in one of the many tavernas in your overnight port of call.
Ports of call: Skiathos; Damoucharia; Kastani Beach, Skopelos; Amarantos coves and Limonari Bay; Agios Ioannis Monastery

ITINERARY

DAY 1 – UK to Skiathos
Fly UK to Skiathos and transfer to the port of Skiathos for embarkation. Enjoy a welcome drink and meet your crew and fellow passengers.
Day 2 – Skiathos
Skiathos is where you start your cruise and the location where Harry and Sam arrive together in a taxi. Sophie is filmed here posting letters to her potential fathers above the old harbour. We visit the various sites used on Skiathos, including the old harbour and you have the chance to send your own mail from the postbox used in the film and visit the Aghios Nikolaos bell tower featured in the movie.
Day 3: Day 3 – Damoucharia
Damoucharia is where Villa Donna was meant to be located. Actually the villa was built in a temporary studio back in the UK. However, Damoucharia bay was used in many scenes and forms a fantastic backdrop.
Day 4 – Kastani Beach
Kastani Beach is located on the western shore of Skopelos and home to the beach bar and jetty erected specially for the film. It was used during the performances of ‘Does your mother really know’. It is a hidden beach with azure waters and fine sand. It was also where Sky and Sophie sing ‘Lay All Your Love On Me’, as Sky’s friends appear from beneath the water in preparation for his stag party. Unfortunately the jetty was taken away at the end of filming, but it’s a perfect spot for anchoring and a swim ashore.
Day 5 – Amarantos
Amarantos is a fantastic series of coves on the southern coastline of Skopelos. They have crystal clear water and pine trees that sweep down to the waters edge, offering shade and privacy. There is one called ‘three tree cove’ which was the anchorage used by the yacht in the film. There are several other anchorages nearby and will visit Limonari Bay , one of the destinations used as a chill-out during filming for the cast and film crew.
Day 6 – Skopelos Island
Skopelos was the location of most of the filming and the main town was where the cast and crew could let their hair down. It’s a very chilled-out place and an excellent location to relax with many good restaurant and café bars. Afterwards you have a chance to put your dancing shoes on and visit the ‘Mama Mia’ bar and dance the night away to favourite ABBA songs with other like-minded ABBA fans.
Day 7 – Agios Ioannis Monastery
Ioannis Monastery is the highlight on the Mamma Mia cruise. It is the chapel used in the wedding scenes. It is situated on top of a 100 metre high promontory surrounded by truly stunning scenery. We anchor in the bay at the bottom of the chapel and swim ashore, climbing the steps for the climax to this Mamma Mia Tribute holiday cruise.
Day 8 – Skiathos – UK
Disembarkation and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. spacer
