This superb spring holiday, taking in the French & Italian Rivieras, starts with a Champagne check-in before an escorted afternoon departure by Eurostar from St Pancras, London. On the Riviera enjoy Free Drinks every night, visits to Monaco and Portofino with the opportunity to visit San Remo and Alassio. We return to London by train arriving early-to-mid evening.
We stay in Diano Marina, situated on Italy’s Riviera of Flowers, where a mild climate ensures spring arrives early and summer lasts longer. The resort is a pretty seaside town with stylish, chic shops and pavement cafés with a relaxed atmosphere as well as a long promenade. To one end lies the harbour where boats ferry passengers on scenic cruises along the coast. To the other is the beach and quiet hotels, some with private beaches. Our hotel is centrally located a short walk from the sea and the town centre. The location is ideal for visiting some of the best and most famous resorts along the glorious Riviera of Flowers coast.
By train to Nice via Lille
Our holiday starts with a Champagne check-in and an escorted afternoon departure* from St Pancras International, London. We join Eurostar to Lille (around 90 minutes journey time) and, in Lille, we walk the short distance to our hotel for an overnight stay. The evening is free to explore at leisure and obtain dinner.
The next morning we join the TGV for our journey to Nice. On board the TGV, settle in to your comfortable seat and relax as the French countryside rolls past the windows. The train has a buffet car where you can obtain drinks and refreshments as you speed towards Nice.
Making the most of the Riviera
On arrival in Nice, we board our coach for the short drive (around 90 mins) to our hotel in Diano Marina. You will have time to settle in before dinner at the hotel. There will be time to explore the resort at leisure and our included excursions will take in Monaco, on the French Riviera and Portofino on the Italian Riviera. There is also an opportunity to visit Alassio and San Remo on the Riviera of Flowers. Local bus or train can easily reach these two resorts; your Tour Manager can advise all details in the resort and assist where necessary.

Itinerary - Day 1: London to Lille by train
Afternoon departure from St Pancras by Eurostar to Lille. Walk the short distance (approx 150 metres) to our overnight hotel. This evening you are free to explore the city and savour one of the many good restaurants in the centre.
Day 2: Lille to Nice, then Diano Marina
Depart the hotel after breakfast to join an early-morning TGV to Nice. On arrival we meet our coach and drive to Diano Marina and check-in at the Piccolo Hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: Day to explore Diano Marina
Free day to enjoy Diano Marina and shop at the local market. Coffee⁄Tea available throughout the day. Dinner at the Hotel.
Day 4: Discovering Monaco
Drive to Monaco & Monte Carlo where you can enjoy the architecture, including the Casino and the Royal Palace and marvel at the prices in the designer shops and boutiques. Return to the hotel late afternoon. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 5: Relax in Diano Marina
Free day to enjoy Diano Marina. Coffee⁄Tea available throughout the day. Dinner at the Hotel.
Day 6: Exploring further afield
Today is free to explore on your own or take local transport to visit the resorts of Alassio or San Remo. Local buses are available within a short distance from your hotel. Your Tour Manager can advise. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 7: Discovering Portofino
After a prompt breakfast we will travel by coach to Santa Margherita, where we join the ferry to Portofino. The approach to Portofino is spectacular by boat giving coastal views not available by other transport. We return to the hotel late afternoon.
Day 8: Time to head for home
Depart the hotel after breakfast for the drive to Nice Station. We board the TGV to Lille where we transfer to Eurostar for the return to St. Pancras. We expect to arrive mid-evening. Note: Order of excursions may be subject to change.

Piccolo Hotel - 3 star
Set in a quiet location within walking distance of the sea and centre of Diano Marina, the hotel has a panoramic terrace and restaurant and a comfortable bar. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, telephone, and satellite TV. The restaurant offers a full buffet breakfast, tea and coffee all day and dinner served at your table. There’s a Free Bar with local brands between 18.00 and 24.00hrs each night, plus live music one evening and a candle-lit dinner.
